Relief as hostages freed by pirates
A British couple have spoken of their relief at being freed after Somali pirates held them for over a year. Skip related content
Paul and Rachel Chandler were reportedly handed over to local officials in Adado after a ransom was paid.
They are believed to have boarded a flight to Nairobi where they will be transferred to the British High Commission.
Mr Chandler told BBC News: "We're fine. We are rather skinny and bony but we're fine."
He said they were informed they would be released two days ago.
"We were told on Friday and in a way which gave us some confidence to believe it.
