British tourist abducted, killed in South Africa
A 28-year-old British tourist was found dead after being abducted by armed men in Cape Town just days after she and a friend arrived in South Africa for a holiday, police said Sunday. Skip related content
The woman and her male companion were abducted at around 11:00 pm on Saturday when armed men stopped their taxi at an intersection close to a major township, police said in a statement.
The attackers forced out the driver and sped off with the tourists. An hour later they released the 31-year-old man, it said.
The body of the woman was found later in the Lingelethu West area, southeast of the city centre.
