Can We Live Forever? Growing New Organs

Have you ever wondered if we could replace old worn body parts much like you’d replace parts on your car? Well, that time is nearly here and the possibility of greatly lengthening lifespan may be just around the corner. New discoveries in the scientific community are quickly advancing the ability to not only replace organs, but grow them from a patients own unique cells. This episode from NOVA reveals some of the unusual techniques that have allowed scientists to create the structures necessary for new ears, lungs and even hearts while showing us that the day of rejected donor organs and long recovery periods may well be gone.

Libya's Foreign Minister 'Defects To UK'

Libya's foreign minister has arrived in the UK after defecting from Colonel Gaddafi's regime, according to reports.

Questions were earlier raised about the whereabouts of Musa Kusa after he was reported by a Tunisian news agency to have headed to London on a flight from the country.

A Libyan government spokesman later said he had not defected and was on a "diplomatic mission", but declined to say where he was going.

When a motorist runs out of gas, it's an inconvenience. For satellites, it's the end of the line: They either fall into the Earth's atmosphere and burn up, or stay in orbit as dead, potentially dangerous space junk. Canadian aerospace company MacDonald, Dettwiler, and Associates (MDA) plans to change that by launching the first-ever orbiting refueling station, a move that's being heralded as the "Holy Grail" of the satellite business and a "huge, huge, huge event." Here, a brief guide:

Rare dinosaur found in Canada's oil sands

TORONTO, Mar. 25, 2011 (Reuters) — The Canadian oil sands, a vast expanse of tar and sand being mined for crude oil, yielded treasure of another kind this week when an oil company worker unearthed a 110-million-year-old dinosaur fossil that wasn't supposed to be there.

The fossil is an ankylosaur, a plant-eating dinosaur with powerful limbs, armor plating and a club-like tail. Finding it in this region of northern Alberta was a surprise because millions of years ago the area was covered by water.
