Man arrested over Test match 'betting scam'


A man has been arrested over an alleged betting scam during the current Test
match between England and Pakistan.

secretly-filmed footage appears to show Mazhar Majeed discussing a bribe to fix the fourth Test- England  v Pakistan: alleged match-fixing a real tragedy for game of cricket


A tabloid newspaper alleged that some members of the Pakistani team were
involved in cheating during the Lord’s Test.



The News
of the World
claims it gave £150,000 to a middleman, who promised to
arrange for Pakistani players to bowl “no balls” during the match.


The man was secretly filmed by reporters posing as representatives of an Asian
gambling cartel as he counted out the money.


A dossier compiled by the tabloid has been passed to the police who in turn
alerted the International Cricket Council, the game’s ruling body.
