An Ohio man was charged for allegedly hissing and "making barking noises" at a police dog, The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Ryan James Stephens, 25, of Mason, Ohio, was accused of teasing the police dog in the Cincinnati suburb.

According to a police report, Officer Bradley Walker was outside his squad car investigating a car crash early Sunday when he heard Timber, the dog, "barking uncontrollably" in response to Stephens' alleged taunting.

Walker says Stephens, who was allegedly barking while in a "highly intoxicated" state, refused to stop teasing the animal.

The officer says he asked Stephens why he was harassing the dog, and Stephens replied, "The dog started it."
