DUO for world Peace

Amplify’d from www.care2.com

This group is dedicated to making progress toward world peace by joining folks who believe in the DUO principles. Key elements are the Golden Rule and religious tolerance.

One way to make progress toward world peace is to gather folks on the same wavelength and then amplify the unification by recruiting new members.  The world population is too large to attempt to change basic sincere beliefs of which we may not individually agree, but we could establish a common code by which we can all agree and use it to progress toward a better world.  The code should be independent of race, religion, and sex. The code should magnify love, friendship, compassion, honesty, and tolerance.  This group believes that our code has two basic rules (hence the name DUO and also stands for Do Unto Others) and that those who follow them are good people.  The second rule is a vital part of the first rule that needs more emphasis.  The DUO rules are:

The Golden Rule:  Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  This rule assumes that you are a normal soul that wants people to be kind, considerate, and respectful toward you.  All major religions, as well as many other folks, believe in this principle.  See the List of quotes below.

The Silver Rule: Respect the sincerity of people with different religious beliefs, as long as they believe in the Golden Rule.  Many people sincerely believe that their beliefs are the only true ones.  Most religious folks believe that God is the final judge.  Therefore, let God be the judge of those that do not believe as you do.

It is not the intent of the club to diminish in any way our member’s beliefs, but rather to augment the one vital element of the Golden Rule that religions have not emphasized enough, the Silver rule; it is vital for establishing a common ground of the majority.

The main goal of the club would be to spread the word of the importance of the Golden and Silver Rules in significantly reducing animosity and in building a common bond.  In order for this movement to grow and become strong, members need to recruit friends to join, to teach their children the importance of the DUO principles along with their religious principles, and to work toward keeping the these principles near the forefront of everyone’s thoughts.  Think about these principles a few moments each day and about ways to promote them.  Think about what amazing accomplishments would be achieved, if the collective consciousness of the majority emphasizes the DUO principles.

This site is open for all members to express their positive thoughts on ways (1) to improve our goal in spreading DUO, (2) to improve this website, and (3) to establish communications between our members.

This is a positive thinking group.  A pessimist fails in the end, whereas an optimist can produce wonders.  Positive thinking is a secret to successful living.
